Drawing Near to God (DNG) is a ministry of compassionate care and a place of hope and healing centered around worship, teaching, and ministry.

 Dear DNG Family,
Since the beginning of our year of study together, my prayer has been for us to grow together in the Lord and as a community, to be a support and encouragement to each other. I have witnessed firsthand the love and kindness you have extended to one another and the bond of Christian community that has been built.
Now that we have concluded our study of Acts, I encourage you to join us for a six-week study on the Names of God. Our format is the same...worship, teaching, small group discussion and healing prayer. The teaching is presented by DVD. This is a study I taught seven years ago and it continues to be one of the most requested studies we have done. I am attending each session and am available to add and discuss anything that arises from our study together. Many are doing this study as a Lenten discipline. Please join us for all of the sessions or just a few. We are not charging for this study, so come and bring a friend.

___________________________ CONFERENCE/RETREAT UPDATE
Joanne spoke at The Falls Church Womens Retreat on the weekend of January 30 at Rocky Gap Resort in Cumberland, MD. We were welcomed warmly by 160+ women and the Lord moved powerfully all weekend through teaching, break-out sessions, healing prayer, and fellowship. Lives were truly tranformed through revelation,which seemed to be the underlying message throughout the entire weekend. A big Thank You to DNG participant, Carol Dalrymple, who not only heard the Lord to bring Joanne to this conference but also drove us to and from the airport, transported all of our resources and helped us oversee the book table throughout the weekend.
On the following weekend February 6, Joanne spoke at a Community-Wide Conference in Naples, FL. The words of the Lord were strong and passionate and many seeds were planted. We want to personally thank our team who made the weekend so special for the people of Naples. Kristy Barry, Vicki Marsi, Barbara Barnes, John Pawley, Barbara Boone, Kathy Cooley, Mary Page Carmody, Heidi McCormack, Becky Kerr, Sharon McGuirk and Joanne Ellison.

At our Celebration Luncheon, we had six men and women give their testimonies, which touched the lives of many people in the room!
How has the ministry of DNG touched your life? Have you been healed, set free, restored? We want to know about it. Our goal is to have more testimonies weaved throughout our sessions and in our materials that we send you. The Lord is moving in power at DNG and we want to glorify His name by sharing your testimony with others!

We welcome our new working Board. These Board members are responsible for helping to strengthen the local ministry and to expand the ministry beyond Charleston.
Our Board Chairman, Howard Rambo said, "We have a history of success and a great story to tell." The Lord is calling Joanne to be a National Speaker and promoting Joanne and the ministry is the main focus of the Board. The Administrator, along with the local Leadership team and volunteers will continue to serve and strengthen the Bible Study and local ministry. | |
