Frontiers Conference, 2009

The Decibels Foundation recently sponsored our first annual Frontiers Conference at Harvard Medical School, two half day family focused conferences on the causes, management, and treatments of hearing loss and Usher syndrome.

Families and professionals from across the U.S. and several other countries attended this event to hear Dr. Heidi Rehm of Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dr. Margaret Kenna of Children's Hospital Boston and Dr. Albert Edge of Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary speak on the causes, management and future therapies of hearing loss.  The Usher syndrome session included presentations from leading researchers like Dr. William Kimberling of Boys Town National Hospital.

We plan to make this a regular event, reaching out to more people affected by hearing loss and Usher syndrome, while offering a network of support and resources.

Thank you to Harvard Medical School Center for Hereditary Deafness, Children's Hospital Boston, Hear See Hope and each of our generous donors for making this event possible.
