Eric has been collecting records and DJing since the age of 15.  For a DJ, record buying is a weird compulsion of obsessive consumerism, hence the term "vinyl junkie".  He would go into a record shop and buy anything that resonated with him.  Pinning down a genre was impossible, which resulted in a very eclectic collection of music, ranging from funk, old school hip-hop, disco, break beat, house, hardcore, down beat and world music.  He could often be found cutting and scratching hip-hop/funk at a house party on a Friday night and then playing at raves on Saturdays around London and Leeds.
