Fountain of Frozen Treats

In our family, summer brings certain rights and traditions.  Going outside to play after dinner, staying up later and eating ice cream.  Yes, we know ice cream is available all year, but somehow, right after the 4th of July, we start having it everyday.  And when we're on vacation, sometimes twice a day.

This old-time ice cream place in Summit is only open in the Summer
(ok - April to October).  Magic Fountain brings you back to your childhood memories of summer and gives your kids new ones.

Let's start with their soft serve ice cream.  Chocolate or vanilla.  Dipped in chocolate and/or sprinkles and/or plain.  On a cone or in a cup.  We even saw the coolest looking high school kid in his board shorts and football jersey walking around with a cone of soft serve covered in rainbow sprinkles.  My daughter was thrilled she was eating the same thing.  Ice cream is the great equalizer.

I prefer hard ice cream, and with so many flavors, I didn't mind the wait while I was trying to decide.  My husband favors the slushes.  Crushed ice with flavoring is a sophisticated twist to the sno-cone.  And my son loves the ice cream blends -- his choice is the thick cookies and cream with heath bar bits served in a milkshake cup with a spoon.  It's so big, it can almost last the whole afternoon (if you stay in the shade).

Root beer floats, eclairs and ice cream sandwiches add to the huge selection of modern and classic fountain treats that have made this place a staple for a really long time.

Cool treats, cool memories and hot days remind us of the lazy days of summer and that is definitely suburbuzz-worthy.
