At this time we are not guaranteeing we are going into Mexico. We may be staying on the U.S. side to work on projects in the U.S. as we discover them. Planning will take place for accommodations and projects on both sides of the border with final decision being made by the end of the year. We closely monitor the situation south of the border in Reynosa with prayers that it might end soon.

Pilar de Esperanza New Home Status |
As you can imagine, very few groups have been coming down to Mexico this past Summer. But with funds that were raised through various sources, we were able to purchase all the floor tile and hire a local brother in Reynosa to install it for us. Praise the Lord! The real miracle was that when I left the area in April, after another brother and I delivered all the tile that the company had in Reynosa and paid fully for the rest of the tile to come a week later, it did not come! In fact it did not get to Reynosa until 3 months later. The praise report is that it was the same color tile!
Obviously this takes dollars (or OK, Pesos) to make all of this happen. We need your help to get this home completed! Would you please pray that we come into contact with a company who is willing to set up the long term plan for the septic system, at a price that makes this doable?
I hope you are checking the progress that has been done during our trips on our pictures account. To access them just click here. Don't miss this past February Trip pictures. A great work going on there with about 36 young girls from the poor areas of Mexico and a couple of the orphanages where we serve! |

Fundraising Events
North Texas had it's 3rd annual Bowling Fundraiser on Tuesday the 19th of October with a great turnout, and I even got a chance to stop by as we were headed back to Mission, TX. Congratulations to the Fundraiser Leadership Team for their efforts to raise funds for projects to be completed.
I must say the HERO Makers who showed up to bowl have some pretty

interesting ways of getting that bowling ball down the alley to the pins!
| Obviously, a job well done! |
Kansas will have it's first Bowling Fundraiser on October 30, 2 - 4 PM.
You don't have to be a great bowler to come and join the fun and your participation and fundraising will be a blessing to "at risk children" you may never meet. Reflect a little on what the Bible says to us in these matters....
Matthew 25:34-40 34"Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
35''For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;
36"naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.'
37"Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?
38''And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?
39''When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'
40"The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'
You may never be able to go on a HERO trip, or any mission, but if you do what you can to support those that can and will go, you are as much a part of the blessing as anyone else.
Come and Bowl... If you can't come, DONATE anyway, any amount is perfect for God knows your heart! Be a part of something bigger than any of us!
As always, 100% of funds raised from fundraising events like these, and from donations directed to projects, pay for the materials of all the projects that we are able to complete along the border to aid children at risk.

Field update from Reynosa, Mexico |
Well, ok, maybe just across the river from Reynosa! Just got here from our travels around the country this past summer (more about that later) where everybody was asking the question of the day, "What is it like driving through Mexico border towns?" As many of you know, we usually stay on about 5 main roads that take us into town, around town to the shopping area for food or building supplies, or to one of the children's homes where we serve. The last time I was in Reynosa was April of this year, and I did notice that traffic was a little less than usual. But I didn't have any problems delivering the tile out to Pilar, nor did a good friend of the ministry from our neighborhood have any problems when he delivered 3 different loads over a couple of days July. Our routes have changed a little bit, but for the most part we just use common sense and check our surroundings well. A lot of discernment from the Lord helps, and He has proved it. The last thing we want to do is have a bad experience on one of our trips, so plans may be changed at the last minute for these upcoming January trips.
But the reality is that the kids we serve and the full time caretakers who serve them at the children's homes are still here, 24-7-365! The children and the caretakers need our prayers and our continued help. The people of Mexico are getting fed up with what is going on, but again realty is they are unable to change much how the government takes care of them, and they are unable to take care of, or protect, themselves. Now I hope you are feeling pretty blessed right now that you were born in, or grew up in, the country that you are in right now! And remember, that was none of your doing! Please keep us in your prayers as well. There are things that I need to do and places that I need to get to in order to accomplish what He has called us to do. I am certainly not saying that I am the big macho guy who does whatever I want. But I really want to be able to hear our Lord's voice, may it only be a whisper, so that I might please Him by obeying Him at that moment. Whether it is to go, or to hold, may I just strain to hear Him. May He continue to bless you so that you can be a blessing to others.
