Greetings!
LATAN assists individuals of all ages with all disabilities to achieve a higher quality of life and greater independence through increased access to Assistive Technology as part of their daily lives. LATAN is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit statewide entity funded in part by Federal AT Act Grant, State Appropriations, public and private foundation grants, and via generous donations.

In its effort to reach as many individuals across Louisiana as possible, LATAN has implemented this monthly electronic communication newsletter service to keep consumers, caregivers, educators, therapists, supporters and all Louisiana citizens informed of LATAN's programs, activities and services for individuals with disabilities.

Ameriphone Wake Assure Alarm Clock
LATAN's AT Device of the Month Ameriphonewakeupsystem
Wake Assure by Ameriphone is an alarm for individuals who live with hearing impairments. By placing a bedshaker disk under the mattress or pillow it vibrates when it is wake up time. The motion wakes up someone who wouldn't otherwise hear the alarm. Furthermore, a plug-in is provided to connect a lamp directly to the alarm clock. The alarm goes off causing the lamp to blink on and off.

The Ameriphone Wake Assure Alarm Clock is available for demonstration and device loan at either device demonstration program. Please contact us for details and to schedule an appointment.
