Watch. Like. Share - a lot! | | At Homewood's Fall Fest, residents and their friends were treated to a premier of Zombie Paradise, a series of three, short videos created for watching and sharing on Facebook and other popular social networking sites.
The videos were developed to expand the Village's current marketing mix in addition to its traditional methods and to focus on participating in the the Web's number one activity: social media. 90% of the conversations taking place on social media sites are about entertaining videos found on the web. Each month, 8.9 billion videos are viewed on YouTube. So, a group of talented residents got together to create content that fit what people watch and share online (fun, quirky, offbeat) while still highlighting the intrinsic qualities of life in Homewood. The result: Making New Friends, The Cupcake, and Locked Out.
More than 70 Homewood residents volunteered to make the video shoot happen, many participating as extras in full zombie makeup. Homewood residents Larry Burr (Mr. Zombie), Grace Opyd (daughter zombie) and Will Maharry (son zombie) along with Katherine Banks (Mrs. Zombie) created the nuclear zombie family. Additional non-zombie Homewood residents appearing in the videos include Valerie, Avery and Eli Burr and Haley Maharry. Joy Deyo portrayed the non-zombie mom in "Locked Out".
With Halloween approaching, the series couldn't be more timely and we have a great opportunity for a little buzz about Homewood on the web with our friends. As an e-Newswire subscriber, you have all the tools, right in front of you, to watch and share the series. Go!
