Homewood Farmers Market

Homewood is celebrating their 30th anniversary of the Farmers Market. For 30 years Homewood has hosted a famers market with the finest vendors selling fresh food, drinks, vegetables, flowers, and more! Homewood's market opens May 19, 8:00 AM-1:00 PM, in the Village of Homewood parking lot. Look for celebrations filled with music, dance, and more throughout the market season!

 

We have added to the market "Green Thumb Saturdays" this monthly, free program is designed to educate both novice and experienced gardeners of the latest techniques in gardening. The presentations will be held on Saturdays, from 9:30 AM-10:15 AM, in Homewood's Village Hall Council Chambers. Green Thumb Saturdays is co-sponsored by the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardner Program and The Village of Homewood's Tree Committee.

Help out in the Firefighter Blood Donor Challenge.To prepare for the blood drive, participants should eat well, stay hydrated and bring an identification card. Proper identification is required to donate blood. Appointments are recommended. To schedule your appointment, please call LifeSource at 877-543-3768.  Sunday, May 20, Rail Fest will be held at the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District Auditorium 9:00 AM to 3:00PM.  Admission is FREE!  There will be free rides on "Lil Obie" sponsored by Canadian National Railroad. Rail and train enthusiasts will be able to swap railroad memorabilia. Participate in a Raffle featuring an HO Scale Model Railroad Layout and much more!

ART AND GARDEN STREET FAIR

The two day festival features over 45 unique artisans and vendors, activities for all ages, gardening workshops, music from around the world and food from Homewood's best restaurants. The festival is centered at Martin Avenue and Ridge Road in Homewood.

 

Family Concert at the Art and Garden Street Fair! Bring the family to watch Justin Roberts and The Not Ready For Nap Time Players perform at the Art and Garden Street Fair, on Friday, June 8, at noon.

CASH MOBS HAVE RETURNED TO HOMEWOOD

Our first CASH MOB was such a success, we are doing it again! Mark your calendars: Saturday, May 19th, for the second Homewood Cash Mob event will take place! The Cash Mob movement is a new grassroots effort that uses social and traditional media to gather people together to "mob" a local business. Re-acquaint yourself with all the great items Homewood has to offer, help provide a mini-economic stimulus and free publicity for a deserving business, and enjoy a fun opportunity to connect with other residents.

PARISH OF SAINT JOSEPH CENTENNIAL FEST CELEBRATION

Celebrate Parish of St. Joseph 100th anniversary with their Centennial Fest Celebration.  The day will be filled with raffle, games and activities for all ages.
