March 3| Forum  Canceled

The Candidate Forum for the 2nd Congressional District scheduled to take place at Lincoln Mall, Matteson, on March 3, 2012, for the Democratic Candidates and Republican Candidates is being canceled. The reason for this cancellation is that only one candidate for each party agreed to participate. Congressman Jackson's office informed the Leagues he would not participate in the forum, and Mr. Brian Woodworth, the Republican Candidate, did not respond. Mr. Jackson Jr. is opposed by former Congresswoman Debbie Halvorson, and Mr. Woodworth is opposed by Mr. James H. Taylor Sr. The League of Women Voters candidate forum rules do not permit "empty chair" debates.
