Village Manager Resigns | |
Village Manager Mark Franz recently announced that he has accepted a position with the Village of Glen Ellyn and will be resigning from Homewood on June 24. At Tuesday's Village Board meeting, Franz thanked the Village Board for the privilege and honor of working for the Village of Homewood, stating "I would like to thank the Village President and Village Board for this fantastic opportunity to serve the Homewood community for the last 7 ½ years. I also want to thank all the employees for their hard work and dedication over the years. I want to personally thank the department heads for their strong leadership, ethics, and professionalism. Homewood is in great hands."
Jim Marino, Assistant Village Manager, will be the Interim Village Manager until the position is filled. Franz commented that Jim will do an excellent job, since there is no one in the organization that works harder. Village President Hofeld has established a Search Committee and has initiated the recruitment process to fill the Village Manager's position.
Franz stated that the decision was a difficult one and noted the following, "I will truly miss working for the Village of Homewood and saying good bye to people I respect so much is difficult. Saying good bye to a community that my family loves is equally difficult. I look forward to keeping in touch on all of the great things going on in Homewood."

Please contact your State Senators and Representatives before May 31. Send them an email asking them to restore the State income tax share to municipalities to its previous level of 10% rather than the proposed 6% share.
