CHOCOLATE FEST | |
Chocolate Fest
Saturday, February 19 | 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
The Auditorium, 2010 Chestnut Road
sponsored by the Community Relations Commission
Chocolate Fest will roll back to the fabulous 50's this year, with a local soda fountain feel, so wear your poodle skirts, or grey flannel and hop in to the Park District Auditorium for a poppin' good time. As always, Chocolate Fest will showcase the best, local and national confectioners. The event will feature live music from Fast Eddie and the Corvettes, demonstrations from professional dessert chefs, and delicious activities for the entire family.
BINGO Stroll and Trolley Rides
Downtown merchants will also host a BINGO Stroll and trolley rides. Get your card at Chocolate Fest and hop in to participating downtown stores. At each store, get a number (and a sweet treat). Winners will receive generous prizes. |
GAME NIGHT AND PIZZA PARTY | |
Bring the family together for an evening of fun with Family Game Night and Pizza Party at Aurelio's Pizza, 18162 Harwood Ave., Homewood, on Monday, February 21, starting at 6:00 PM. TAR CREEK DOCUMENTARY |

The League of Women Voters of the Homewood - Flossmoor Area is hosting a viewing of the documentary, TAR CREEK. The movie is about the worst environmental disaster that took place in Oklahoma. This is the story of what has happened in this small location in Middle America and the lives that have been affected by the disastrous impact on this area. If you wish to know more about Tar Creek, you can Google-Tar Creek to find an abundance of history and current information.
TAR CREEK will be shown on Wednesday, February 16, at 7:00 PM, at the Homewood Library, 17917 Dixie Highway. Following the showing of the film, there will be a discussion of the disaster and the implications that are relevant today. This event is open to the public and no fee required.

TAKE A BITE OUT OF CANCER | |
The Cancer Support Center wants you to help Take a Bite Out of Cancer, by dinning at El Cortez, 18250 S. Cicero Avenue, Country Club Hills, on Wednesday, February 23, from 11:00 AM to 10:00PM.10% of the proceeds will go to The Cancer Support Center.
To ensure donations will be received, The Cancer Support Center requests dinning participants tell wait staff they are dinning out to assist The Cancer Support Center.

Foundation 153 will be hosting the event at Ravisloe Country Club. There will be a buffet dinner, silent and live auctions, cash bar, entertainment, and plenty of raffles and games! What is a Diversity Dinner?
Since the 1990's, residents of the Chicago south suburban communities have gathered at houses throughout the region to celebrate its rich diversity. The Diversity Dinners bring people of different races, ethnicities, religions, lifestyles, and age together to share a meal, discuss their common goals, understand their differences, and address misperceptions and offer solutions to strengthen their communities.
