New Community Development Director Announced

Village Manager Mark Franz announces that Paula Wallrich has accepted the position of Community Development Director.

Wallrich was most recently the Village Manager for the Village of Homer Glen (three years), but has spent the majority of her career working for the Village of Frankfort for 14 years as the Planning and Economic Development Director and Business Development Executive.  She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois/C-U and a Master of Arts in Landscape Architecture (MLA) with an emphasis on urban planning from University of Illinois/C-U.  Wallrich is credentialed with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and is working toward completion of a Master's in Public Administration from the University of Illinois/ Springfield.

Wallrich's appointment will allow Acting Community Development Director John Schaefer to return to his full-time duties as Public Works Director.

In making the announcement, Village Manager Franz comments, "Paula is very qualified and experienced with economic development and brings critical management skills from the Village of Homer Glen.  She is extremely excited about the opportunity and looks forward to returning to a Community and Economic Development focus.   We are confident that she will continue the long tradition in Homewood of providing professional and progressive service to the community."

Wallrich will begin her tenure with the Village of Homewood on August 9. Paula is married, has two children and currently resides in Frankfort.
