Homewood Police Association
In January 2003, members of the Homewood Police Department formed the Homewood Police Association (HPA).  The Association was organized as a "non-profit, professional, charitable association, non-political and non-partisan organization" whose aim is to form the unity of all Police Department personnel, to assist in recognizing the needs of the Department and create/promote the social, economic and educational policies  that are in the best interest of all members and the community.

Dues paid by active members and bracelet sales from Homewood Days currently fund the Association.  Last year, the money raised helped support Victory Reins', Team Aurelio, in the Breast Cancer three-day walk, Lake County Pipes and Drums, Homewood Baseball, Chicago Police Department Memorial, Homewood Chevrolet's Coat Drive, gifts for four children through the Homewood Giving Tree, and injured officers from both the Lynwood Police Department and Cape Coral Florida Police Department.  The HPA also sponsors two scholarships a year:  one for Homewood residents, and the other for children of active Association members.

The HPA is seeking donations from residents to further its involvement in the community.  If you are interested in becoming a supporter, please contact the HPA or call the Police Department and leave a message for any of the Board Members listed below:

Reminder: PACE Service Change
Starting February 7, the following PACE routes will be discontinued:
  • Route 451 Southeast Homewood
  • Route 452 Northeast Homewood
However, PACE does offer an alternate for residents: The PACE Metra Feeder Vanpool Program. The program allows for the Pace Van to be parked at a Metra station near the worksite, so that 5-13 participants can take the train and then use the van to complete the commute.
