A Perfect Autumn Day
Last Saturday was a perfect autumn day in downtown Homewood as residents gathered on Hickory Road for the annual Fall Fest and Chili Cook-Off sponsored by the Community Relations Commission. There was an activity for every member of the family: pedal tractor races, pumpkin painting, a petting zoo, live music, horse drawn wagon rides, bean bag tournament, face painting, an outdoor movie, bonfire, and so much more.  The event brought residents together, both young and old alike, to further strengthen Homewood's close-knit way of life.  Click here to take our Fall Fest Post Event Survey.

The annual chili cook-off raised over $860.00 for the South Suburban Family Shelter.  This year's winners were James Hughes for Boy Scout Troop #342, Chuck Mokijewski for Homewood Bunco Babes, and Hank Baldwin and Dave Staehlin for the H-F Band Parents Association. The winners were interviewed by Michael Drakulich, a reporter for the Southtown Star.  Read the article here.
