IT Manager's Web-savvy Aids Munster |
|
IT Manager Tim Stinnett loaned his web-savvy to assist flood relief volunteers and victims in Munster. Stinnett, along with his wife Tina, are both residents of Munster. Although they did not experience the devastation and loss of their home like many of their neighbors and friends, the Stinnetts couldn't bare to not help speed relief and restoration within the community. The site that Stinnett developed, www.munsterfloodrelief.org, communicates the needs of flood victims for those seeking to donate supplies and provides the location of relief sites for volunteers providing transportation support. The site also features an online chat forum for victims and volunteers and a classifieds section for victims trying to put their homes back together. Stinnett states that he is just one of the many Munster citizens who provided his skills, talents, and resources to serve neighbors in need. |
Cell Phone Text-Paging |
|
The September 19 issue of the e-Newswire featured an article for cell phone subscribers. Since that issue, the Village has learned that Constant Contact, the thirty-party technical service for the e-Newswire and electronic alerts, does not provide text-paging service to cell phones (Blackberry excluded).
Constant Contact has chosen to exclude that service from its business model in order to fully comply with the Federal Communications Commission's "Can-Spam" Act. Therefore, cell phones subscribers of the e-Newswire community will not receive alerts. Please subscribe a traditional email address so you can continue to receive community news. |
Electronic Neighborhood Watch Alerts |

The Homewood Police Department has moved its Electronic Neighborhood Watch Alerts to the same email marketing service as the e-Newswire. If you are a subscriber, make sure to update your profile by adding the Electronic Neighborhood Watch list to your interests.
