Stickers on Sale Now! New sticker(s) must be displayed by June 1st. The Finance Department accepts cash, check, or money order for payment. Vehicle Sticker Pricing: 2 wheel ($20), 3-4 wheel ($30), 6-8 wheel ($60), and 10 wheel ($80). Village Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, and from 9 AM to 12 PM on Saturday. |

Administrative Adjudication Process |
|
The Village of Homewood is implementing a new Administrative Adjudication Hearing process that focuses on property maintenance issues and petty offenses. The process enables municipalities to enforce building code and other village ordinances, independent from the courts. A primary focus will be on property maintenance issues, which affect the quality of life in Homewood. This process will allow for more expedient compliance and correction of issues cited. Administrative Adjudication hearings will begin in May and will be held in the Village Board Room (2020 Chestnut Road). For additional information contact Deputy Chief James Gannon (708) 206-3430. |
New Director for Homewood Chamber |

The Homewood Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors are pleased to announce Todd Beele as the new Director. He will oversee all Chamber activities and business services. Beele's background in media relations, marketing, and real estate brokerage will prove invaluable in meeting the Chamber's goals and objectives. The Homewood Area Chamber of Commerce serves the Homewood, Flossmoor, and Glenwood business communities. Committee to Host 5th Annual Railroad Event |

The Rail Committee is pleased to announce its fifth annual Railroad Heritage Days scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, May 17th and 18th. On Saturday evening (7 PM) a slide show featuring railroad photography will be presented at St. Paul's Community Church (18200 Dixie Highway). On Sunday from 9 AM to 3 PM, operating model train layouts (0, HO, N Scale), Lego layouts, railroad memorabilia vendors, and more will be featured in the H-F Park District Auditorium (2010 Chestnut Road). Downtown shops on Dixie Highway, Harwood Avenue, and Ridge Road will feature specials for rail aficionados. Read more. |
Village Welcomes New Senior Accountant |

Village Manager Mark Franz is pleased to announce the hiring of Amy Zukowski as Senior Accountant. Amy was selected from 78 applicants to fill the position, which is being vacated by long-time employee, Louise Pavalon (retiring in May 1st). Amy is a graduate of Augustana College and holds a CPA license from the State of Illinois. Amy's work experience includes working for Selden Fox LTD, auditing municipalities; and Equity Office Properties, performing the functions of senior accountant. |
South Suburban Family Shelter Fundraiser |

Join the South Suburban Family Shelter (SSFS) for its spring fundraiser, the Kentucky Derby Mint Jubilee. The event is held at 2 PM at Olympia Fields Country Club, and includes a live broadcast of the exciting "Run for the Roses," a hat contest, a sumptuous southern-style buffet, mint juleps and sweet tea, as well as fabulous live and silent auctions. Diversity, Inc. Hosts Panelist Discussion |

On Wednesday, April 30th, Village President Richard Hofeld will be a panelist for Diversity Inc.'s discussion, titled "Governance and Management of Diverse Communities; the Benefits and the Challenges." Joining President Hofeld are village presidents, John Ostenburg (Park Forest), Don DeGraff (South Holland), Larry Hartwig (Addison), and Therone Watson from the Center of Multicultural Communities. The discussion will highlight the economic benefits of balanced diversity and is open to Homewood residents. The event will be held at South Holland Community Center ( 501 E. 170th Street), starts promptly at 7 PM, and is sponsored by Diversity, Inc.
