The Chamber has received phone calls from several out of state mass marketing companies this week.
One Company is Mass Marketing from Ohio that is selling ads for a county map. Please note that this is NOT a Chamber sponsored map. The new Yukon City map is now being proofed and should be ready for distribution by July 31st.
The other company is National Advertising out of Tennessee. They are selling ads for an AMBER ALERT refrigerator magnet. Please note that the Chamber will NOT be a distribution site for these magnets.
If any company ever calls your business and states that they have contacted the Chamber, that in no way reflects that we are endorsing the company. Many times these companies will call the Chamber just so that they can call your business and say they have contacted the Chamber. They never receive a business list directly from our Chamber.
Please always call the Chamber if you have any questions about making a purchase or placing an ad with a company you have not done business with -- especially if the company is from out of state.
AS ALWAYS -- Buy local!
If you can't buy local, buy county.
If you can't buy county, buy Oklahoma City Metro.
If you can't buy Oklahoma City Metro, buy Oklahoma.

We are still waiting to hear if Yukon made it to the final 5 for KOCO On the Road Show. I have heard from a few members that they are advertising to go to www.koco.com and vote for your favorite community. I have been watching for the voting link all week but have not been able to find it. If anyone has found the link, please let the Chamber know.

Yukon's New Teachers will be honored at the Chamber's August luncheon on August 14, 2008.
All new teachers will be presented with a "goodie" bag filled with gifts donated by Members of the Yukon Chamber of Commerce. These gifts can be simple to elaborate in nature. The choice is yours. Items that have been donated in the past include coupons, business cards, pens, cups, letter openers, magnets, key chains, and note pads. You are only limited to your imagination. This is your chance to put your business name in front of every new teacher for Yukon Public Schools.
We are requesting Members to provide enough items for 75 bags.
