I'm Home!
Well it was a long day which started at 4:30am with Nancy and I driving to the hospital. Next came the hospital gown, booties and surgery cap.
After all the nuss kids I had worked with and all the athletes who needed surgery for a sports injury that I cared for now it was me who had to do all the things I told them to do before surgery - relax, stay calm breath slow etc.
As many of you know I was supposed to be undergoing a hip replacement but instead ended up hurting my back and underwent a micro-discectomy in my spine. The hip will be postponed for about 3 months.
Beginning the night before, continuing into the early morning hours even before I went into surgery, messages of support, prayers, well wishes, skype messages, texts and emails began pouring in. Over 400 messages in total. It continued throughout the day and Nancy spent lots of time fielding calls and texting to update my status. We tried to set up twittering or tweeting but just couldn't get the hang of it.
At this time I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your support and outpouring of love. I can't put into words how much it meant to me knowing so many people were behind me as I underwent my spine surgery.
Sincerely,
'T'- Joe & Nancy
