2010-2013 Strategic Plan Advisory Committee Meetings
Draft recommendations for the Glenview Park District's 2010-2013 Strategic Plan will be presented to a 15-member Strategic Planning Public Advisory Committee (SPAC) in a series of meetings scheduled for Thursday, March 18 and Tuesday, March 23 at Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave., in Lakeview Room C, beginning at 7 p.m. These meetings are open to the public and provide an opportunity for community feedback and comments. Friday night Fish Frys are back! Join The Cafe at the Glenview Park Golf Club for a delicious buffet featuring soup and salad, baked haddock, fried cod loin, popcorn shrimp, fried clams and more. $12.95 per person ($8.95 for children 12 and under). Registration is going on now for this fun fitness challenge that includes a 10-minute swim, a 20-minute bike ride on spin bikes and a 15-minute run on the indoor track. Suitable for all fitness levels. Participants receive a quick drying t-shirt, coupons and a post-race expo. Entry fee is $35 for TWT alumni or PCHF members; $45 all others. DAIRY DETECTIVES

2010-2011 Memberships on Sale Now.
Current Glenview Tennis Club members (both residents and nonresidents) are now able to renew their membership online (current membership type only.) All current resident members should have received a direct link email at the beginning of the month with step-by-step directions for renewing online. Nonresident members will be receiving their direct e-mail link in the coming weeks. New memberships and existing members wishing to change their membership type must do so in person at the club.

Glenview Tennis Club 2010-2011 Permanent Court Time Lottery. Indoor tennis continues for the 2010-11 season with the annual Permanent Court Time Lottery. This lottery is limited to Glenview Park District residents who purchase a 2010-11 club membership between March 1 and April 9, 2010 & register for the lottery. Season Golf Passes, Season Tee Times On Sale Now. Several levels of season passes are available to suit the frequency of your play. Special Senior and Youth passes are available, too. You can also reserve a weekly weekend tee time for the entire golfing season (May 1- Sept. 5, 2010) by entering GPGC's Permanent Tee Time Lottery. All paperwork must be completed and turned in by 5 pm on Monday, March 22. Click for season golf pass information and information on permanent tee times.
 
The next session of Adult Golf 1 begins Sunday, April 18. This lesson series is designed for the beginning and new golfer. You'll learn the fundamentals of the full swing, chipping & putting and golf course management and etiquette during this 4-week session for ages 18 and older. Spring Break Chess Camp @ Park Center. Match your "mental muscles" against those of your opponents. Morning and afternoon sessions offered at Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave. Dates: March 29-31 and April 1 & 2. Fee: $30/session (R); $37.50 (NR). Register using activity number 303520.

NEW! Spring Break Golf Camp @ Glenview Park Golf Club. Beginning and intermediate junior players will discover the wonders of golf in this fun and positive week-long Spring Break camp held at the Glenview Park Golf Club, 800 Shermer Rd. EARTH HOUR
Saturday, March 27, 8:30-9:30 pm

Are You Ready for Earth Hour?
Join the Glenview Park District on Saturday, March 27 and turn off your lights for one hour to show that together we can take action against climate change. Over 92 countries will be participating in this year's global event. During Earth Hour 2010, the Glenview Park District has committed to turning off non-essential lights in all parks and sports fields and lights that will not affect scheduled programs. Security lights will remain illuminated for the safety of residents and park patrons.

Adult Softball Leagues Heat Up the Summer
 Looking for some fun, friendly competition with friends, family and co-workers? Get your game on and get your team together for all the excitement and action of the Glenview Park District's adult softball leagues.
