Advent begins today.
"Advent," from Latin adventus, means "coming" and we wait for the coming of the baby Jesus at Christmas, as well as for the full manifestation of God's Kin(g)dom on earth (the second "coming," or second advent.)

Mapping Advent--Week One, Darkness
For some, the holidays are a time of joy; for some they are a time of loneliness. Sometimes the holidays are stressful, sometimes celebratory.
We each have a unique experience of this journey leading to Christmas, as well as a unique perspective of this complex time of the year.
Through a special art space, we will be documenting our experiences, reflections, and ideas and mapping out our collective journey through the Advent season.
This is for everybody, non-artists and artists and will include a variety of ways to engage.
