Happy Thanksgiving!

Grace                                      (by Rafael Jesus Gonzalez)

Thanks & blessings be
to the Sun & the Earth
for this bread & this wine,
this fruit, this meat, this salt,
this food;
thanks be & blessing to them
who prepare it, who serve it;
thanks & blessings to them
who share it
(& also the absent & the dead).
Thanks & Blessing to them who bring it
(may they not want),
to them who plant & tend it,
harvest & gather it
(may they not want);
thanks & blessing to them who work
& blessing to them who cannot;
may they not want - for their hunger
sours the wine & robs
the taste from the salt.
Thanks be for the sustenance & strength
for our dance & work of justice, of peace.

Be safe and well, everyone! Try to laugh a lot this week. What are you grateful for?

One Great Hour of Sharing

Hey! We raised $1,000 at the Love Feast to contribute to address hunger, disaster relief, and the self-development of people!

Woo Hoo!

There's still time to participate, too. If you missed the feast and want to give, you can still do it on-line at www.wickerparkgrace.net, (click the "donate" button on the home page) or by mailing a check to Wicker Park Grace at 1741 N. Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60647. (Make checks out to "Presbytery of Chicago", our fiscal agent, and write "Wicker Park Grace" in the memo line.)

Thanks to everyone who participated! Doesn't it make you feel wealthy to share what you have?? We're all connected.

Below are the details we sent out earlier this week. The links are live, so you can read more if you want.

Every year at the Thanksgiving Love Feast we take up a special offering to express our gratitude and to make a difference in the world.

Think about this.

Instead of going out for a special meal, we save what we might have spent, feed each other instead, and pool our savings to pass on to those in need!

Some of us might spend $5.00 going out for a meal, and some of us might spend $50.00. Whatever it is, save it, bring it, and we'll pass it on, together!

If 50 of us give $25 each, that's $1,250!!

And maybe you could double your gift. Wouldn't it be wonderful to send $2,000 to relieve the suffering in the world? We can do it.

Yes we can.

Cash, Check, or Credit Card. It all works.
If you miss the feast, you can give on-line at www.wickerparkgrace.net

(This year's offering will go to the One Great Hour of Sharing offering of the Presbyterian Church, (USA). This national fund gets divided three-ways between the Presbyterian Hunger program, The Self-Development of People program, and the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance program.)
