Sunday, May 4 Spiritual Practice :: World Awareness (The Philippines)
5:00 Discussion and Spiritual Practice
6:00 Potluck Dinner (Entre, salad, bread provided--brings sides, salads, dessert to share)
The Philippine Solidarity Project (PSP) of Chicago Presbytery stands with Filipinos in their quest for
long-lasting peace through justice. PSP's mission is to build awareness
of and bring an end to the violations of human rights in the
Philippines.
On February 19-27 PSP led a delegation to the Philippines to meet victims and their family members and discuss ways in which folks in the US can be in solidarity with them.
Shelley and Matt will talk with us about the delegation (they were there!) and the work that is being done in the U.S., and ways in which you can be involved (including going on the next delegation).
They will also lead us in spiritual practice along the lines of what they experienced in the Philippines when they were there.

Jake and Jessica are having a spring picnic potluck next Saturday, May 10. Anyone reading this is invited, and you are invited to invite others! Rebecca's Mom's Pink Soup Recipe is posted in Nanette's blog. From here, we have to start a recipe page (!) on the website. Anyone want to work on that??? On May 11th we'll be collecting a special Pentecost Offering for children at risk, as well as youth and young adults. Read more about it and consider participating. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ |
