Oh my goodness.....I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is next Thursday. How many of you (raise your hand now) used to think that time CRAWLED by and now feel like time goes by at turbo speed and you wonder how you're going to get everything done? Well I am in the latter category! That being said, I wanted to get out a short newsletter featuring Chris' Thanksgiving Recommendations for you to consider adding to your festivities this next week/weekend. Recommendations can be a little tricky when you consider the various foods you are trying to pair with that perfect wine. I think I've done it here - enjoy!
2008 Natalie's Estate Zinfandel. Pairs perfectly with your herb crusted turkey and traditional stuffing (perhaps with a little bacon thrown in!) The jammy richness of this Zinfandel cuts to the heart of your holiday meal. $22.00/bottle
2010 Broadley Vineyards Pinot Noir. Sip this early entry alongside your baked brie appetizer with dried cherries sprinkled over the top. Stuffed mushrooms or pumpkin soup pair elegantly with the hint of earthiness in this wine. $14.50/bottle
2008 Brooks Willamette Valley Riesling. This dry Riesling is easily savored with green bean casserole, cornbread stuffing, mashed sweet potatoes - as the miniscule residual sugar creates a dry front palate, mixing perfectly with the sweeter flavors of the corn, sweet potatoes or cream based casserole. $16/bottle
2009 Francis Tannahill Gewurtztraminer. This wine often gets a bum rap for being "too sweet" and although there is a discernible sweetness, it only enhances a holiday meal, especially when you have a potluck with Aunt Bee bringing her special "this" and Grandma Tootles bringing her special "that." It can be a nightmare to try and pair your wines when you don't even know what's coming! $22.00/bottle
Frankly, any one of these wines will be a hit at Thanksgiving (not to mention those lovely leftovers!). Delivery guaranteed no later than next Wednesday, if I receive your order by noon on Tuesday, Nov. 22. Give me a call (503-310-4576) or email me with your holiday order (customwinemarketing@hotmail.com).
And, of course, I would be remiss if I didn't thank each of you for your continued support of Custom Wine Marketing. What started out as a small "hey, I can get a case of _________ for $_____; want to go in with me on it?" business, has grown into a full-fledged operation, and I have you and your referrals to thank for it! Happy Thanksgiving, my friends!
Chris
