Woo Hoo! Today I received the Spring Release Portfolio from Oregon Brand Management. OBM is a boutique distributor specializing in amazing Oregon Wines. OBM is very selective about the wines they choose to represent, and because of that I can make these recommendations without reservation. More and more people are choosing to eat dinner in or if they choose to have dinner at a nice restaurant, are opting for taking their own wine with them and paying the corkage fee. This way they know with certainty what they will be enjoying on any given night. These wines are perfect for either occasion!
One of the key questions in my recent survey was whether there was an interest in a wine club membership. 85% of the survey respondents enthusiastically endorsed the idea. 2006 BROOKS "Amycas" WHITE BLEND
Immediate aromas of ripe peaches, lime, white flowers, citrus fruits, clover honey and ripe melons. With a little air, apricots, tangerines, wet stones, cinnamon and clove notes, nectarines and hints of fresh hay add to the complexity. Rich texture and great focus. Intriguing blend of honey and minerals with a broad mid-palate is rich, with good texture and presence.

This Pinot Blanc displays beautiful pineapple and mineral aromas that persist through the long full finish. It's a perfect accompaniment to Salmon, Crab and Oysters.

2008 SILTSTONE "Guadulupe" PINOT GRIS
This Pinot Gris is definitely worth the tasting. Straw to light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of grapefruit, lychee and lime. Flavors of grapefruit, apricot and lime. Light acidity and body.

2008 J.K. CARRIERE "Glass" WHITE PINOT NOIR
A lazy summer evening patio is the perfect place for the aptly named J.K. Carriere "Glass" Willamette Valley White Pinot Noir. Yes, white Pinot noir, or rather, an unpretentious, utterly dry and serious rosé. It's fashioned in the manner of a turn-of-the-century rosé Champagne, with no bubbles, a slight spritz and a luscious ripe sip-of-summer taste.

2007 J.K. CARRIERE "Provocateur" PINOT NOIR
Sometimes you just want good wine for a great price, but you really do want good wine.
