2008 PINOT GRIS CRAWFORD-BECK The fruit for this wine was sourced from the Crawford Beck Vineyard, a 1.2 acre block located in the Eola Amity Hills near Amity, Oregon. The long, mild, Indian Summer of 2008 allowed these volcanic and sedimentary soils to produce fruit with exceptionally beautiful and complex aromatics, while preserving high acidity. This wine is bursting with guava and pear. It has a golden combination of rich mouth feel with a crisp finish loaded with great minerality. A superlative wine already, the acidity will allow it to age a good 10 to 15 years.
$18.90/bottle or $105.00/6 bottles 2007 PINOT NOIR EOLA/AMITY HILLS The Eola Amity Hills are situated in the heart of the Willamette Valley and accumulate greater heat units than the surrounding areas while receiving late afternoon cool winds from the gaps in the Coast Mountain Range. This additional heat allowed us to harvest perfectly ripe fruit in spite of the unusually cool temperatures of the 2007 Fall. The volcanic soils in these low lying hills produce Pinot Noir with fragrant red fruits and complex earthy spices. This vintage is a classic for the Pinot Noir varietal.
$35.70/bottle or $200/6 bottles 2007 SYRAH EX UMBRIS 'Ex Umbris' is Latin for "out of the shadows". The Syrah for this wine comes from several sites. Fruit from Bruce Morford's Slide Mountain Vineyard and Mike Sauer's Red Willow Vineyard, both located in western Yakima Valley, is balanced by the cooler, smoky Lewis Vineyard in The Dalles, and the unctuous fruitiness of Elerding Vineyard located in Alderdale, WA. The cooler temperatures of the 2007 Fall helped to preserve great acidity of this Columbia Valley fruit. The current vintage exhibits all the fragrance, texture, and deep plum/gamey characteristics of great Syrah.
$21.60/bottle or $122/6 bottles 2007 CABERNET FRANC ROSA MYSTICA The cooler Fall of 2007 was perfect for producing a quintessential vintage of our Rosa Mystica Cabernet Franc. The fruit was sourced entirely from Red Willow Vineyard, located in the far reaches of western Yakima Valley where moderate temperatures preserved beautiful aromatics as the fruit ripened. This Rosa Mystica has elements of Old World charm and fragrance, yet its bright berry and plush richness is all New World. With all the hallmarks of a world class Cabernet Franc, its ripeness and power do not overshadow the delicacy of its cedar fragrance, olive and beautiful berry fruit.
$35.70/bottle or $200/6 bottles 2006 CABERNET SAUVIGNON DUBRUL VINEYARD Hugh and Kathy Shiels planted DuBrul Vineyard and meticulously maintain their hilltop vines in the Yakima Valley of Washington. The depth of flavor and concentration are unlike any that we have come across in the West Coast due to the growing area, severity of pruning, and miniscule yields. This cooler site in Washington helped keep acids high while also benefitting from the warmth of the 2006 vintage. The fruit was picked in mid October when taste alone determined it was ripe. It is a stunning Cabernet Sauvignon with ripe flavors of plum, cedar, chocolate and a hint of anise.
