I am so happy to share two pieces of great news. First, we've purchased the building that will become the GCTC Clubhouse PR Release > and we've begun
to transform it into a healing space for anyone living with cancer. Second, we've launched our bright, shiny
new website > our online "command center." There you can share your stories of hope, find resources and information, and help us reach our $3 million goal to open our clubhouse by participating in our
"Paint the Door Red Campaign >." What a month!

| My Story: Interview with Renée Garpestad, Ed.D.
Gilda's Club Twin Cities board member, author, speaker, and 13 year breast cancer survivor.
GG: When did you learn you had cancer?
RG: I was only 39 years old and up to that point my life had not been touched by cancer at all--until I discovered a lump in my breast during a monthly self-exam. The next thing I knew I was in my doctor's office that same morning. My suspicions were confirmed and I began my lengthy cancer journey.

volunteers in 2011. In the past year, volunteers supported over 20 events and initiatives and raised over 1.1 million dollars. That is more than was raised in all the previous years combined. Michele Silverman, Executive Director, set the tone for the evening of awards and recognition: "Thank you for being on this journey to open our very own Gilda's Club in the Twin Cities, and for your faith in our mission and your tenacious support. You are the lifeblood of Gilda's Club."

| Volunteer puts the "fun" in Fundraising
Krirsten Witte, a GCTC volunteer, celebrated her birthday by holding a fundraising event for Gilda's Club Twin Cities at her NIA class at Time Out Pilates and Fitness Studio. She had a great turn out, and raised $600 for GCTC. What a wonderful way to celebrate--thank you Kristen for all that you do as a volunteer for Gilda's Club.
