OUR CLUBHOUSE IS WITHIN REACH. I'm excited to share with you that our momentum continues to build; we are making daily progress in closing the gap for the 25,000 people in the Twin Cities waiting for our one-of-a-kind program of social, emotional and psychological cancer support.
Every day our phone rings and more people ask if the clubhouse is open. As one of our callers so poignantly said, "I'm looking for help to gain control out of what seems so out of control."

"I am tremendously honored and blessed to be asked to be part of this incredible organization. I am intimately aware of how cancer touches all of us--cancer has impacted the lives of my family members and many of my friends. Gilda's Club Twin Cities will provide a much-needed place for everyone that is living with cancer, providing support, acceptance and understanding. I am in awe of the beautiful future ahead for the Twin Cities because of Gilda's Club." ____________
ANNE JOSTEN, MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT INTERN
Anne recently graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Marketing and Business Communications. Previously, she has worked for other nonprofits like the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, the Science Museum of Minnesota and Special Olympics MN. "Having dealt with my mother's breast cancer diagnosis three years ago, I fervently believe in the Gilda's Club mission that no one should face cancer alone. That's why I am so excited to be a part of the Gilda's team; I can't wait until we can walk through the red doors and welcome the members of our own Gilda's Club in the Twin Cities." |
| In Her Own Words, by Lisa Dahlmeier
I AM A NEW VOLUNTEER with Gilda's Club Twin Cities and feel honored to share my story with you. I am a two-time survivor of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma-there are so many issues that come along with cancer treatment and survivorship it's hard to know where to begin. I could tell you about my personal fears of growing my hair out only to lose it again, or how I was broken by cancer yet grateful for the experience, or of finding the strength to go on after treatment is over and recovery of the mind, body and soul slowly begins.
