Nopales (Cactus) are a made from the youngsegments of prickly pear,

carefully peeled. These fleshy pads are flat and about hand-sized. They are particularly common in their native Mexico, where the plant is eaten commonly and regularly forms part of a variety of dishes. Used to prepare nopalitos, they have a light, slightly tart flavor, like green beans and have a crisp texture.

Health Benefits Of Nopal:

Protects the Liver: By supporting the liver, it frees that organ to balance bodily functions, including the immune system.

Soothes the Stomach: Tests have shown that Nopal stimulates the healing of stomach ulcers and reduces stomach inflammation

Sweeps the Colon:The insoluble plant fibers in Nopal cactus provide dietary roughage, which make it easier to maintain bowel regularity.

Scrubs Blood Vessels: Nopal cactus sterols, along with its polyphenols and glycoproteins, serve as antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and keep plaques from forming.

Lowers Cholesterol: The fiber helps limit the amount of blood fats absorbed by the body, thereby lowering blood cholesterol levels.
