Often I'm asked to recommend a treatment that is quick, easy, safe and will make a noticeable difference in a short amount of time.  When I pull out my magic wand, it usually includes Botox or Dysport, fillers and a good skin care program. 

Most patients with concerns about facial aging have the common triad of wrinkles (from  sun damage and facial expressions), volume loss  or sagging of facial soft tissues, and dyschromia or color changes  from sun damage including brown sunspots and spider veins .

Although not quite as quickly as a magic wand, the effects of fillers can be appreciated almost immediately. Lifting the cheek, filling in smile lines and deeper creases or plumping the lip all result in a more youthful appearance. BOTOX Cosmetic and Dysport start taking effect within a few days and lines and creases diminish and give a more relaxed appearance. Treatment of sunspots and spider veins may take more than one visit, but the result is typically well worth it--ususally IPL, Clear + Brilliant or Fraxel are recommended. For those with sagging or laxity of face and neck skin, Thermage may be the perfect magic wand--no downtime and  a 90 minute treatment can fit on almost anyone's calendar.

Skin care is important at every age, and our skin's needs change with age, geographic location, weather and environmental exposure. One thing remains constant--the need for using spf when outside in daylight. This  isn't a magic wand, but can be very effective in preventing many signs of aging due to UV damaage.
