It is good to be home.
I love to travel and I especially enjoy going on medical mission trips. But, I always feel happy coming home. Upon my return, I have a renewed appreciation of the beautiful place I call home, the food, clean water and freedoms that I enjoy daily. I also miss family and friends while away. So, I look forward to seeing you during your next visit to my office! I have lots of stories to share, so feel free to ask. We walked for Water....
...on April 28, 2012 with approximately 400 others to raise money and awareness and to fund bore holes to provide clean water to people in Zambia. It is such a small world. I had just been in Zambia for two weeks doing cleft lip and palate surgery. Still somewhat jetlagged, I headed over to the Walk 4 Water with my daughters and three jugs. Just a few days prior, Madeleine and I had seen women and children carrying large containers of water on their heads in Zambia and here we were carrying water in Lake Oswego in effort to end their long walk. I get goosebumps just thinking about how small this world is and how much impact one person can have on many people half a world a way. The money raised last Saturday will provide water, sanitation & hygeine for one thousand Zambians for the rest of their lives!!! Water Africa is our highlighted charity for the second quarter of 2012. We had fun doing the Walk and plan to be there again next year as well. For more information on Water Africa, click here.  |
