Greetings from Portland Laser & Surgery Center!
Ready or not, here it comes--school starts this week for most of the children in the Portland area. The French simply refer to this as "Rentrée". I like the simplicity of the word. That one word alone describes the entire scene--students with new shoes, pants that are intentionally a little too long, new backpacks and nervous smiles. Teachers not quite ready to end the Summer holiday, but excited to see the personality of the new class. And, last but not least, parents gearing up for the next year, or perhaps looking forward to a little "me time" while the kids are in school.
We feel it too. "Rentrée" to us means that lots of moms will finally find time to take care of themselves, come September. Many will wish to undo some of their souvenirs from an active summer--sun spots, dry or dull skin, or the frown and squint lines that seem to deepen each summer.
