Greetings from Portland Laser & Surgery Center!
Thank you so much for your kind words, thoughts and prayers while I was in Africa! It is always good to be home to family, friends, a soft bed and to that NW Cranberry Chicken Salad from the lunch cart downstairs. Funny what one craves when eating fresh fruit and vegetables is risky business in terms of gastrointestinal health... Dr. Clawson and I had a very rewarding trip and left behind in Zambia more than a dozen smiling children and their grateful parents as a result of our cleft lip and palate surgery. I hope to update the travel website soon, but for now you can click here to read my blog if you want a sneak peak at some of the children we helped and to learn about our time in Zambia. Of course it wasn't all work, we enjoyed a luncheon with Zambia's President Banda and his family and he rewarded our hard work with a helicopter safari in his private presidential helicopter!
