Medical Mission Trip
...round two 
I have the privilege of traveling to Zambia later this Spring to help children with cleft lip and palate deformities. Three years ago, I wrote you about a trip to Mexico, and the life changing transformation of the patients...and the doctors. And now, I am so excited to be planning a trip to Africa! We will be based in a non-profit hospital in Lusaka, built for treating pediatric deformities. I am traveling with Dr. Joe Clawson and above are photos of one of his patients from a recent trip to Zimbabwe. Many of us take for granted the many privileges of living in the US--plenty of food , clean water to drink...and the ability to treat our children when they need medical care. One day, I hope that these privileges will be available to everyone, but for now, I think it important to reach out to those with so little and give them a hand, or in this case, a new lip or palate. I'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers as I embark on this adventure. And, I'll keep you posted as the story unfolds. Michelle B. Vessely, MD |
