Our 4th Quarter Charity
By now you probably have noticed that we at Portland Laser & Surgery Center have a passion for helping charitable organizations. Each quarter we choose a charity to highlight and then we enlist your help to make a difference. Over time, we have worked with the Oregon Food Bank, Dress for Success, Operation of Hope and Faces of Honor. This time, we are highlighting Goose Hollow Family Shelter, a subsidiary of Portland Homeless Family Solutions.
Portland Homeless Family Solutions operates and manages shelters that provide temporary emergency housing for families with children. It provides homeless families with children access to transitional resources so they can achieve self-sufficiency; and advocates for the elimination of family homelessness. Goose Hollow Family Shelter is the night emergency shelter for families with children. The shelter operates each night from 6:30pm till 7:30am. The capacity of the shelter is 24 people or 8 families.
As we approach the Holiday Season and colder weather, we'd like to help provide shelter and resources for homeless families with children.

Thoughts on Being Thankful
November is a perfect time to reflect on our many blessings and to feel thankful for those who touch our lives. I am thankful, now that my daughters are older, to be practicing otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, as well as my cosmetic and laser practice. The plan to expand my practice was three years in the dreaming. A long time dream of mine was to serve on a medical mission trip. I realized that dream in the summer of 2008. That experience, as well as time spent covering a colleague's maternity leave later that year, further fueled my desire to expand my practice to include general otolaryngology and surgery. I had limited my practice to an office-based laser and cosmetic practice while my children were very young. Those were timeless experiences and I am thankful to have enjoyed both my children and my practice during that time. However, something was missing, and I am happy to announce that I now have the best of three worlds. My children are thriving, I get to work with you in creating positive change in your appearance and self-image and now, I enjoy the privilege of caring for those patients who also benefit from my medical knowledge and surgical skills. I practice ENT Tuesdays and Fridays at Lake Grove ENT, and I practice at Portland Laser & Surgery Center Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays.
