Controlling Severe Underarm Perspiration (Hyperhydrosis)
With summer, comes heat. That can be an embarrassing combination if you are dressed for a special event. Especially if you experience severe underarm sweating when traditional topical therapies haven't worked.
Luckily, Botox® treatment has been FDA approved to help control this condition. Botox® works by temporarily blocking the chemical signal that stimulates the underarm sweat glands. Treatments simply involve injections in the affected underarm area using a very fine needle.
While this is not a cure, symptoms will gradually return. Treatment duration can last up to six to nine months. Once heavy perspiration begins to return, you may consider re-treatment. We can recommend a treatment schedule to ensure the best results.
