The Eyes Have it!
Your eyes really determine how you look. Happy, excited and alert or sad, tired and worn out - you can see it in your eyes. If family traits and aging have resulted in heavy upper eyelids or lower eyelid bags, your eyes may not be communicating the real you. If you are looking fatigued when you feel full of energy, we have several procedures that can help you look more like yourself.
Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) removes excess upper eyelid tissue so your eyes appear less heavy and tired. Lower eyelid fat and skin can be modified to remove bags, which further refresh the eyes. As a board certified Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon, Dr. David Magilke routinely performs these procedures in our private accredited office operating suite. The procedures take just over an hour, and you can typically be back to work in a week.
Fraxel Retore and Fraxel Repair are the most advanced laser procedures and can be used to tighten crepey eyelid skin as well as to smooth fine lines and crowsfeet. Patients may elect to treat only the eyelids, or to schedule full face skin rejuvenation. Dr. Michelle Vessely is the leading provider of Fraxel laser procedures in Oregon, and one of the first in the nation to introduce the Fraxel Repair laser. For healthier and more youthful appearance, consider laser eyelid treatment.
Thermage uses radiofrequency waves to tighten skin, and is useful for lifting eyebrows and tightening eyelid skin--without downtime. The procedure works by contracting collagen and tightening the skin. Often referred to as the "Lunch Time LIft", patients may elect to return to work on the same day!
BOTOX Cosmetic is a great way to relax "crowsfeet" wrinkles around the eyes and also provide a subtle lift to the forehead. It can also relax the frown lines between the brows, which can go a long way towards looking rested and relaxed. Botox injections are quick, and easily done during a brief break in your day, with no down time. Results can take up to 7 days to fully develop, and last for 3 months on average.
