Dr. Smithers to Have Healthy Conversation on Pain-Free Knees
Dr. Jeff Smithers, a board-certified sports medicine physician with Southern Illinois Sports Medicine will conduct a Healthy Conversation about the causes of knee pain and what you can do to remain active and pain free on Friday, April 30 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in Memorial Hospital's Auditorium.
Healthy Conversation is a program presented by Memorial Hospital in conjunction with area health professionals to provide the public with information on a variety of wellness-related topics.

Give Yourself a Break: Join American Lung Association's Freedom from Smoking Program
The Cancer Treatment Center is teaming up with the American Lung Association to help smokers "Quit for Life" through the three-session Freedom from Smoking Self Help Plus Program. "Quit for Life" begins Monday, June 14 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Cancer Treatment Center, 4000 North Illinois, Swansea.
Classes are open to the public and will be taught by a respiratory therapist from Memorial Hospital. The program is designed to provide smokers with the tools they need to quit smoking in a relaxed atmosphere. The first class will focus on why participants have chosen to smoke and motivate them to quit; the second class will be "quit day" where coping skills and reward systems are discussed; and the third session provides tools that can ensure the goal to "Quit for Life" becomes reality, including developing an exercise program and healthy eating habits.

Sycamore Village
Sycamore Village yard sale is set for Friday May 21 and Saturday May 22. Donation for the yard sale will be accepted through May 14. Anyone can also have their own yard sale table for a $20 donation and then able to keep their proceeds. We will have fresh baked goods and snow cones for sale.
