CASA chair1.  WOVEN WOODS
I love using woven wood shades in almost any room and with any design style because of the organic element they add.  They are the perfect solution for creating privacy while still allowing the light to softly filter through.  Did you know the darker the shade the better visual clarity you get looking out?  Can be used in conjuction with fabric side panels or valances above to soften, or alone for a cleaner look.  Now available in three price points to fit all budgets.  Colors range from white to dusk, (shown here). Click here to see other rooms where I have used these shades.

 2.  MANSOUR MODERN RUGS

Mansour Modern

Thanks to Kathy Adcock-Smith who recently co-hosted a huge trunk show of Mansour Modern's rug collection.  With a showroom in LA, these rugs range in style from contemporary to transitional to tribal and each is an exquisite, original work of art. We drool over these rugs in the best shelter magazines and dream that they will have a presence in Dallas soon.

Click here to read Fox + Riddle's blog for more about Mansour Modern's recent trunk show in Dallas.  They are great for adding a fresh modern pop to an existing traditional setting or using as a focal point in creating a contemporary or transitional room.  www.mansourmodern.com

thin hangers3.  ULTRA THIN VELVETY HANGERS
I just redid my whole closet with these hangers and gained at least 30% more closet space, not to mention the positive effects of decluttering.  These are a must for dorms, apartments or any dwelling with limited closet space, like my 1950's ranch.  The velvet texture keeps your clothes from slipping off the hanger and onto the floor.  50 for $30 at Bed Bath & Beyond plus a chance to use thier wonderful coupons.

 4.  FENG SHUI TIPS TO FRESHEN YOUR FRONT DOOR
CASA chairDid you know that by using your front door daily you can actually increase your income, improve your relationships and enhance your sense of well-being?  It's important to sweep your front porch and water your plants daily.  The more attention you give your entrance the more abundance you will attract into your life.
Paint your porch ceilings blue which keeps wasps and bugs from building nests because they think it's the sky.  I recommend Benjamin Moore's HC 144 "Palladian Blue".

Muchlove 5. GPS COLLAR FOR  YOUR  DOG
Now if your best friend escapes you can just check your computer and get a map to locate him in a matter of minutes.   Avoid the agony I have experienced with Sabrina and clients with their dogs missing for days.  This is also much easier on your bank account than costly vet bills or the loss of the favorite member of the family.  On top of that, a percentage of the annual fee goes to Animal Rescue.  Currently available thru secureapet website.  Licensed by Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer.

3. Spread cooled filling in baked tart shell. Arrange peaches, plums + kiwi in concentric circles atop filling. Add berries to center and randomly sprinkle any extra berries over top. Combine honey + rum or O.J. Brush fruit with honey mix. Cover + chill up to 1 hour. Before serving, remove sides of pan. Makes 10 servings. Less than 200 calories per serving.
