Greetings to you and your family! I hope you have had a great year and have many blessings to share around your Thanksgiving table next week. Now is the time of year many of us prepare our homes for the upcoming holidays.
We open our doors and share our homes during the holiday season more than any other time of the year. If you are not quite ready for those planned or surprised visits, read on for some inspiration and helpful hints.
Sherwin Williams Paint Company unleashed their Color Trend Forecast for 2008, which always reflects the zeitgeist of the times. They also have a "green" product now which is sweeping the walls of America.
Finally, if you would like a "holiday helper" with preparing your home, give us a call to schedule an appointment to get you on track. I can help you use your favorite decorations and furnishings in a new way to create a fresh look or we can start from scratch with a completely new holiday theme. My gift to you is no charge for the first hour of consultation when you send a referral or schedule your own new project before the end of the year. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you create harmony in your home for the holidays.
Many Blessings!

WHAT'S NEW IN THE DESIGN INDUSTRY
Sherwin Williams Paints presented their 2008 Color Mix collection to the Dallas Design Community this month. The annual collection reflects current trends in the Home Industry. The 2008 theme, "Destination Inspiration", contains the continuation of global influences from Egypt, India, Dubai, Turkey, China and Russia, as well as many colors pulled from the perfect colorist- Mother Nature.
Give us a call to discuss your "Destination Inspiration" with the new Sherwin Williams colors such as "Borscht", "Lemongrass", "Tranquil Aqua" and many more.
I specify Sherwin Williams new "Duration Home" paint which is a low-VOC, low-odor, "green" product. This product proves that "green" is the way of the future- I love it because of it's exception washability even with a Matte sheen. It's great for halls, kitchens, baths, kid's rooms and commercial applications. Ashlynn Bourque, the Dallas I.D. account rep says, "Our technology provides a barrier between the paint and possible stains, so that you can remove the stain without harsh chemicals and there is no burnish, or "shiny mark" left behind to mar your finish."

Holiday Decorating Tips Here are some helpful ideas for creating a more enjoyable holiday. Planning is the key.
Go to www.Flylady.net and downloading her free Holiday Control Journal, which is an all inclusive planning guide to keep you out of chaos and help you enjoy the holidays by planning in baby steps.
- DE-CLUTTER..before you get your holiday decorations out. Set a timer for 15 min. at a time to go through toys and clothes to clean out anything outgrown or no longer used. Keep in mind the deluge of incoming toys from Santa and well-meaning grandparents. Throw away or load in your car to donate or take to the consignment store.
- PRIORITIZE-Sit down with your family and discuss what traditions you want this year then plan your calendar accordingly. We all have our own "pictures" of holiday expectations and hurt feelings can be avoided by sharing these and then negotiating.
- Use a centrally located family calendar. There are so many activities during this time and scheduling conflicts can be avoided.
- 4 Phases of Holiday Decorating- First decide what items you want to use and where. Then inventory existing decorations editing worn out items. Now you have a list to go shopping. The last phase is installing. Break these down and plan to do a little at a time.
- "Old Tannenbaum" can create a favorite memory for your children, if time is planned. Plan a family outing to select the tree. Our tradition is to watch classic movies like "The Christmas Story" and "It's a Wonderful Life", sip hot cocoa or cider while trimming the tree.
- Be creative and have fun! Include personal memorabilia in your decorations like childhood toys, hobbies or collections.
