How do we get a beautiful "tone" out of metal? By pounding it, firing it and forming it...but mostly listening to what the metal wants of reflect.  My hands have blisters as this week I am actually cutting, forging and shaping a 24" iron gong under the guidance of german gong maker Manfred Bleffert. You have heard my little bronze gongs made my Manfred. Each releases a sweet pure tone. Now I see how we coax the sounds out by the flattening, pitting of the metal. It is miraculous. I will be using this new gong this Saturday August 2 to inaugurate Song and Spirit, our new sound healing center in Novato. Join us. Randy Masters, sound tool creator and mystery school teacher for those who don't know him, will be on hand to lead us playing his solfeggio (bible code) chimes and answer questions.

Manfred is presenting a concert at Grace Cathedral on August 17th, 3-4:30. Four groups of "new instruments" will be placed in the four directions, creating the shape of the cross.

 

       In the east..metal instruments will stand as a reflection of the fire in the spiritual world.  In the south, wooden percussion instruments will represent the streaming water of life.In the west, seitenfelder, (string fields) will form the sphere of death, ashes and resurrection.
