A View of the Classroom
Adult Presence
Perhaps the most compelling reason for limiting the number of adults in the classroom is that it best supports the education of the child.  In a Montessori classroom, each child must be allowed to make discoveries on his own, repeat tasks while in the sensitive period, and to create and have ownership over his own experiences in the classroom.

 Relatively high
class numbers (AMI recommends
28-35 children,
 known to Montessorians as a 'Substantial Class Size') and limited adult interaction encourages the child's process of self-construction.  An optimum level of independence must be provided, within the boundaries established by the director.

Greetings!

Handbook Corner - Toys, Cell Phones and Miscellaneous Articles

Please refrain from sending your children to school with items such as toys, cell phones, games, candy, money, etc.  They will not be allowed to use them while at school.  If your child has something interesting/educational to show the class, your director will have specific plans for how these may be shared.  Please speak with him/her directly to help avoid any confusion or disappointment for your child.
