A Word from Ms. Jan
The year continues to fly by and we have less than three weeks until Winter Break! Our students are enthusiastically preparing their Winter Programs. Please be sure to attend. Seeing the children all dressed up and ready to entertain their favorite audience is such a treat. Siblings and grandparents are welcome to attend as well, if they are comfortable being packed into the classroom very snuggly. Grandparents are also invited to what we hope will be a special new tradition at JMS. Our first Grandparents or Special Friends Day will be held on Thu, Dec 17. We recognize the essential role many of our grandparents play in their grandchildren's Montessori education and want to honor them for their dedication. Please see the newsletter article and attached flier for more information. Our children will conclude the fall semester with their Winter Class Celebrations on Fri, Dec 18, before our noon dismissal for the holidays. Our adolescents will be attending their second week at Nature's Classroom from Dec 14 - 18, so they will be doing their holiday celebrating in Wisconsin. We have two full weeks off, with a weekend at each end, so it should give our families, faculty and staff some time to really do special things and enjoy each other's company. School resumes on Jan 4. We hope that your holidays are happy family times, filled with peace and joy!

Grandparent's Day
We are pleased to announce our first 'Grandparent's Day' will take place here at the school on Thu, Dec 17, 2009, from 9:30 - 11:30 am.
The day will begin with a welcome reception in our adolescent classroom and from there go to classrooms, as the children share their work with their grandparent or other special person.
Please see enclosed RSVP form for additional details. |
Manna Orders
The Manna program is off and running, and for those of you participating, you will receive a statement with your current filled order stating the money you have already earned. Not too bad for doing things you would be doing anyway.
Enclosed is a revised Manna order form and new stores have been added. There will only be two more opportunities before Christmas to participate, so take advantage of this spending season and purchase your Manna cards now. Happy Holidays! Sue Bebar Director, Development and Marketing |
A Word from our Business Manager

As annotated on the bottom of the invoice, semi-annual tuitions are due into the office by close of business on Fri, Jan 8, 2010. There is no grace period and no further reminders will be issued.

Merchant Support
There are many opportunities available to JMS to earn money from your everyday purchases. Throughout the year we will be highlighting the programs we participate in through the newsletters and on the school website. If at any point you have any questions about these programs, please contact Karen Barowsky. This month's FEATURE PROGRAM: OneCause Toolbar Now search the Internet, save money and support our school with the OneCause Toolbar! The OneCause Toolbar is a simple way to help our school every day, whether it's through your Internet searches or online purchases. It also provides you with one-click access to: · Coupons & Deals to help you save money at participating merchants. · Message alerts from your own OneCause Inbox. · Your lifetime contributions earned through OneCause! Even if you forget to start your shopping at OneCause.com by installing the OneCause Toolbar, you'll be making sure every eligible purchase counts, which could result in up to 5x more contributions, plus you can contribute up to 2 cents per qualified search with the toolbar's built-in Yahoo! search engine. Install the OneCause Toolbar today! Go to www.onecause.com and click on the link that says "Install the OneCause Toolbar" then choose Joliet Montessori School as your school to support. How does the toolbar work? Once installed on your computer, the toolbar will automatically recognize when you're visiting participating OneCause merchant websites from your Web browser, and it will help ensure that your school receives the contributions.
Does the toolbar cost anything? No. There is no cost to install or use the toolbar.
Will the toolbar work on my computer? The toolbar operates on Microsoft Windows Vista/XP/2000, Internet Explorer 5.5+ and Firefox 1.5+. It can not currently operate on Safari, Opera or Chrome.
Can I use the toolbar if I have Shopping Buddy? OneCause will soon no longer support the Shopping Buddy. Please take a moment to uninstall that program and install the toolbar in its place. Instructions to uninstall Shopping Buddy are available at help.onecause.com.
Will the toolbar affect my computer? No. The toolbar will have no noticeable effect on your computer's functionality.

Each parent should exercise his/her own judgment as to the advisability of driving in severe weather. The school will be open when we feel a majority of parents can safely bring their children to school. |
