Campus Expansion Committee

The Expansion Committee is pleased to announce a special opportunity for our students.  On Wed, Sep 23, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm, we will be planting several native plants and grasses in one area of our outdoor environment and berry and grape vines in another.

Plants and grasses are being purchased using the IL Dept of Natural Resources Schoolyard Action Grant that we applied for and received.  Our group leader for this event will be Kelsey Shaw, owner of The Possibility Place Nursery, in Monee, IL.  He often works with schools on special projects and is donating his time to work with our students.

This afternoon fulfills the educational component that is required for the Schoolyard Grant.

We will be coordinating with each of the directors to provide the opportunity for the children to work in the Outdoor Classroom.

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help with this event, please contact Jeni White at jenimw@comcast.net.

Welcome Back Picnic Thank You's
Thank you to all the families who attended the Welcome Back Picnic on Sunday. It was a great kick off to the Home and School year! A special thanks to Vicki Hartmann for coordinating the event along with the Chovanac, del Alcazar, and Villegas families for volunteering to help. Many other families helped out "unofficially," and we appreciate your time and dedication as well.

Elementary Family Fall Social
Elementary students and their families are invited to come and socialize on Friday October 2nd from 5-7 pm out in the new Outdoor Environment. A light supper will be provided, you may bring either an appetizer or dessert to share if you like. Chick here for an event flyer.

We need to properly plan for the meal, and therefore are requesting that all elementary families RSVP for the event by Wednesday September 23rd. You may do so one of three ways: use the September Reply Form, call Ms. Lorraine, our Director of Parent Relations, at 815-741-4180, or email Ms. Lorraine at lorraine@jolietmontessorischool.org. Please indicate the number of adults and number of children attending.

Adolescents will be planning their own event.  Watch for details.
Thank You!

To the Selby Family for the donation of the fans for Miss Francis' class.

Arrival and Dismissal

Doors open at 8:30 a.m.  All children should be in their classrooms and engaged in their morning work cycle by 9:00 a.m.  Parents are expected to escort their children to the office following the close of carpool at 9:00 a.m.  A staff member will see your child to the classroom.

Please be on time to pick up your children.  Dismissal for Half Day children begins at 12:00 p.m. and concludes at approximately 12:15 p.m.  Dismissal for Full Day children begins at 3:00 p.m. and concludes at 3:30 p.m.

Children who have not been picked up by the close of dismissal will be released to Extended Care, and parents will be invoiced accordingly.

Please follow the designated carpool route and inform anyone picking your child up to do so also.  Turning directly into the driveway will cut off those families who are following the route.  Please be considerate of all our families and follow the designated carpool protocols.
