Manassas, VA - June 7, 2007 - Northern Virginia's
Maharold Peoples, Jr. & Tribe of Praise
will release their sophomore Gospel CD, "Theory of Evolution" on July 15, 2007.
Maharold Peoples, Jr. & Tribe of Praise gospel ensemble based
in Manassas Virginia will officially celebrate where the
gospel journey began for Music Director and native New Yorker Minister Maharold
Peoples Jr. The weekend series of events in NYC include a listening party,
In-store meet & greet at a local Christian bookstore, two live concerts and
a gospel brunch. The celebration will continue with performances at the Gospel Workshop of America Convention in Orlando, Florida in August 2007.
In 1998 Minister Maharold Peoples, Jr. brought together an
aggregation of anointed singers who emerged as
Maharold Peoples, Jr. & Tribe of Praise (MP2 & TOP) with their
first CD in 2001 entitled "The Millennium Project." The groups' dedication to
praising God, through music, taps into the musical quality of Walter Hawkins
and Kirk Franklin.
MP2 & TOP's Sophomore CD, "Theory of Evolution" takes
listeners on a spirit-filled journey of reflection and introspection marked by
the words in the title song "I don't believe I came from an ape, but I
believe I was made in the likeness of God," stated by Min. Peoples. Another
popular cut, "Rumors of My Demise" is Peoples' testament to an extremely
difficult time in his life and how his faith in his ministry was restored by
the grace of God. This song is meant to encourage those individuals who have
lost hope amid adverse situations and offer an inspirational message to believe
in God for their restoration. The video Rumors of My Demise can be seen
24/7, on Demand, at MusicChoice cable music network.
MP2 & TOP's thought provoking songs such as "The Way a Man Thinketh"
and "Face the Wall" along with inspirational selections "He Broke Me, to Bless
Me" and "Faith will Work (If You Work It)" is a testament to the talent and
innovation of the group. MP2 & TOP
is not just a choir of singers creating Christian Pop music. They seek to
permeate the soul by giving listeners profound spiritual messages as well as
exciting, rhythmic and melodious music that will minister over and over again.
The single entitled When Things
Don't Change will be paired with Min. Peoples' impending inspirational book
of the same name When Things Don't Change, Encouragement During Unchanging
Times. The CD/Book combo will be a limited edition available as a gift set
in time for the 2007 Holidays.
MP2 & TOP has performed extensively along the East Coast with many
gospel greats. Min. Peoples is Chapter Representative of the Northwest Virginia
Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America and serves as Minister of Music
for First AME Church of Manassas in Virginia, Rev. Ronald A. Boykin, Pastor.
