Doers and Dreamers

 People who make Kingston special

Name:     Michael Piazza

Business:        Crossfield Management, The Shirt Factory, Kingston Media Factory & The Pajama Factory

Occupation:     Real Estate Investment and Development and Management

Age:   65

Where are you from originally? Originally born in Brooklyn but like so many other transplants we migrated to Long Island. After a stint in the Navy I lived in Queens, Manhatten and Rockland County where I still maintain a home.

Why are you here?   The Hudson Valley is a great place to invest and develop Real Estate. I am also engaged to a Kingstonian Lady and look forward to continue enjoying the abundant lifestyle the Hudson Valley has to offer.

What is your favorite hangout? My loft apartment when not playing golf, tennis, sailing, hiking or travelling to the beaches of Long Island, Block Island or Cape Cod in my airplane. The many fine restaurants nearby offer a wide variety of food choices and entertainment is abounding, particularly in Kingston.

Tell us something we never would have guessed about you.      I'm an artist at heart (I spent a few years photographing and processing black and white long before the advent of digital) and have assimilated a rebirth of self expression given my surroundings (artists everywhere) to express myself in oil and mixed media.

What keeps you here?    My investments of course, plus the proximity to the many forms of recreation, such as the Hudson River for sailing, the mountains for hiking and the ease of getting around to all that the area offers.

What would you change?    I wouldn't change anything per se, but as a developer I naturally gravitate to creating new projects so I guess I would say being more development friendly might be a direction to take. I'd also like to add that our new Mayor seems to be moving in the right direction and clearly cares about the City. His attitude is refreshing, and falls in line with that of Governor Cuomo. My outlook for New York, locally and regionally is brighter than it has been in a long, long time. The National economy is also picking up steam so it may be an opportune time for the city to move forward.

Where would we find you on Sunday mornings?  Any number of places

When you're not in Kingston, what's your idea of a wonderful city to visit, and why?    Naples, Florida. I have a home nearby and the beaches and restaurants are spectacular.
