Chamber News from the President
Dear Bloomingdale Chamber Members:
As we enjoy the warm weather, long days and sunshine, our thoughts turn to golf. Our Annual Golf Classic takes place on Thursday, July 12 at the Bloomingdale Golf Club. In addition to enjoying a fun day on the course, you can also promote your business to fellow golfers through golf sponsorships. For as little as $125, you can have a sign promoting your company on one of the holes. You can also provide a promotional flyer for our goody bags for $40. Bloomingdale Area Women in Business will host a networking luncheon on June 26 at ANYWAY's American Grill & Pub at 11:30 AM. Join fellow professional business women for an informal luncheon. Get to know new people and share your own personal and professional journey.

Farewell and Thank You to Kim Perkins
Kim Perkins will step down from the Bloomingdale Chamber Board of Directors as he prepares for retirement from Bloomingdale School District 13 at the end of the month. Kim has been a member of the Chamber since he came to District 13 in 2003 and has faithfully served on the Board since January of 2009. In addition to serving on the board, Kim has been a Chamber Ambassador and has served on the 50 Men Who Cook committee and as its emcee since its start in 2009. In addition to his contributions to the Chamber, Kim also made many positive contributions to Bloomingdale Schools. Under Kim's tenure as Superintendent of District 13, pass rates on state exams have increased from 78% to 94%. In addition, for eight consecutive years, District 13 has earned a perfect 4.0 Annual Financial Rating from the Illinois State Board of Education.
We wish to express our thanks to Kim for all his work and goodwill on the Chamber's behalf. While we will all miss him but wish him well in his retirement.

Finance & Fashion Luncheon
BAWIB and Wintrust Wealth Management held its third annual Finance and Fashion Luncheon on May 22 at Shiraz on the Water at Hilton Indian Lakes Resort. Jane Lambesis of Federated Investors provided professional and personal insight into the world of finances for women. BAWIB members modeled fashions provided by Carson Pirie Scott in Stratford Square Mall. We also awarded the annual $1000 scholarship to Gayle Deja-Schultz. Thanks to Jeannette Adcock of Wintrust Wealth Management for donating $500 for the scholarship, Jane Lambesis for her great advice, Carsons for providing the model's fashions, Mario Tricoci of Bloomingdale for doing the model's hair and make-up and for providing goody bags, Hilton for sponsoring the model's lunches and Nicole Kneeland-Woods of Stratford Square Mall for moderating the fashion show and for providing gifts for all attendees.

Outback Steakhouse Scholarship Fundraiser
Thank you to all Chamber members who attended the Annual Outback Steakhouse Fundraiser Luncheon on May 10. Not only did you enjoy a great lunch, you also helped support a $1000 scholarship. Thank you also to Salomon Diaz, Proprietor of Outback for once again donating all proceeds to our scholarship fund.
