Chamber News from the President
Dear Members:
Mark your calendars now for our annual Holiday and Awards Luncheon on December 8. It will be held at Hilton Indian Lakes Resort starting at 11:15 AM. Entertainment will be provided by pianist Jenny Conti and Santa will make his annual appearance.
Awards for Business of the Year, Ambassador of the Year, and Leadership will also be awarded at the December 8 Luncheon. Please consider nominating a Chamber member who has made a difference in the past year. Nomination Form
Chamber Ambassadors will be contacting our members over the next two months for input on how the Chamber can best serve the needs of your business. If you should receive an
e-mail or voicemail from one of our Ambassadors, please take the time to follow-up. The survey will only take a few minutes of your time and will allow us to understand how best to promote your business and provide the services and programs you are looking for.
Consider joining us for an informal get-together on November 17 at 5:00 PM at Ballydoyle Irish Pub and Restaurant. "Chamber Unplugged" includes complimentary appetizers, great music and drink specials. You will also be entered into a raffle for a cash prize.

Student to Business Partnership
On November 17, we will sponsor our 4th annual Student to Business Partnership. Students from Lake Park, Glenbard East and Glenbard North High Schools are matched up with local businesses for a morning of job shadowing at the business. The students then join their business partners for lunch and career focused discussions at Hilton Indian Lakes Resort. Students are matched with a business that is in the field they plan to pursue. It is our hope that the day gives the students some insight into the everyday life in that career before they begin their formal study. All Chamber members are invited to the lunch at Hilton, regardless of whether you are hosting a student. It is great to experience firsthand the ambition and energy of these students. Thanks to Michael Hooper of Hilton for sponsoring the students' lunches.

BAWIB November 16 "Polka Dot" Luncheon
The annual Women in Business Multi-Chamber Progressive Polka Dot luncheon will take place on Wednesday, November 16 at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites in Carol Stream from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. When you arrive, you will roll the dice to determine which table you will sit at for each course of the meal. Changing tables for the three courses allows you to maximize your contacts from the 14 chambers that will be in attendance. Wear polka dots if you wish! October Multi-Chamber Progressive Luncheon
Over 150 people from the Chambers of Addison, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream and Glendale Heights gathered on a beautiful Fall day at the Glendale Lakes Golf Club for a Progressive Luncheon. Attendees maximized their networking potential by sitting with a new group of businesspeople for each course of the meal. Multi-Chamber Luncheons are a great way to make new contacts from neighboring chambers. Mark your calendars for the next Multi-Chamber Progressive luncheon on January 19. |

Hibachi Grill Ribbon Cutting
On Monday, October 24, Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet held a grand opening and ribbon cutting at their new restaurant at 240 Town Center (directly behind Midas on the corner on Army Trail and Bloomingdale Roads). Bloomingdale and Glendale Heights Chambers were then invited to sample their extensive buffet. The buffet is very reasonably priced at $6.99 for lunch and $9.59 for dinner. |

Heartland Blood Centers needs your help. Specifically, they need sites that are willing to host a blood drive this winter. Hosting a drive is easy.
