Chamber News from the Executive Director
Our golf outing on July 14 was a huge success! 96 golfers started with a BBQ lunch and then headed out for 18 holes of golf and games on the course at Bloomingdale Golf Club. The day ended with a great dinner, a live auction and raffle prizes. Thanks to Don Helmig of Catering with Elegance, the volunteers and the live auction and raffle prize donors for helping to make this event a success. See below for pictures.
Its not too early to start thinking about our 3rd annual 50 Men Who Cook community event. This year's event will be held on September 24 at the East Pavilion at Hilton Chicago Indian Lakes Resort. Join us as a cook or a sponsor. Or just save the date to come and enjoy 50 tastings of great food prepared and served by prominent men of our community. The evening also includes live entertainment and judging for the best chefs. Proceeds benefit Bloomingdale elementary schools. Adventist GlenOaks Hospital will once again be our presenting sponsor.
Enjoy the slowed pace that summer brings. I look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events. You can register for our events at bloomingdalechamber.com

In addition to providing internship opportunities for several Lake Park students this year, Indian Lakes also provided student lunches during the Bloomingdale Chamber job shadow day this past fall. Additionally, Indian Lakes sponsored a day of career seminars at Lake Park in October. Michael Hooper, general manager of Hilton Chicago/Indian Lakes Resort stated, "We are proud to partner with Lake Park High School on several different initiates all aimed to assist students in career preparedness. Both institutions have been pillars in the community for many years and we employ many Lake Park graduates at different times of their careers so it is great to provide so many students with an initial peak into the hospitality industry."
