Be Alert! End Times & Israel
Two Exceptional Commentaries: Must Read
Titus 2:11-15
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation
to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and
worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and
godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope
and the appearing of the glory of our great God and
Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to
redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for
Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for
good deeds. These things speak and exhort and
reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
Isaiah 30:9-11
For this is a rebellious people, false sons,
Sons who refuse to listen
To the instruction of the LORD;
Who say to the seers, "You must not see visions";
And to the prophets, "You must not prophesy to us
what is right,
Speak to us pleasant words,
Prophesy illusions.
"Get out of the way, turn aside from the path,
Let us hear no more about the Holy One of Israel."
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
And for this cause God shall send them strong
delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all
might be damned who believed not the truth, but had
pleasure in unrighteousness.
Even Stronger Delusions to Come
The strong delusion has been spreading through the
church, Israel and the world virtually unchecked
despite the valiant efforts of those statistically few
watchmen for quite some time.
Just reading sermons shortly after the last true large
scale revival, the Great Awakening, we see the falling
away beginning and if that is indeed the case, how far
we have fallen.
However, most of the church has been sound asleep
to this truth, even in the hey day of "Jesus Movement"
when most were looking for the soon return of Christ
and interested in Bible prophecy, the understanding of
deception in the church outside of the normal "cults"
was shallow at best.
Now this deception has fully blossomed and even the
saints are deceived. I say this in the sense that nearly
every day brothers and sisters in Christ call our home
who though saved for years and seem to somehow
keep "hanging in there" through one deception after
another, yet again are caught up in another and its all
due to the fact that they still have not grasped the
basics of the Christian faith.
Now the church is so deluded that the one thing that
we are look to as our blessed hope is now called
gloom, depressing, and negativity. Of course, these
are teachings of the world, not the word of God, but
that is what is being taught in the church today, the
teachings of the world, the philosophy of
men.
Now this philosophy has spread to all quarters,
everything is upside down and backwards. Even those
few groups in the world who understand some truths
ultimately turn on two things: The true church and
Israel.
Case in point: Check out some of the alternative news
sites on the web and you will see that on many issues
they get it correct, such as concerns about micro-chip
implants, international Government unions, bio-
technology etc. However, at the same time they will
have anti-Semitic and anti-Christian
reporting.
This is clearly how the worldwide persecution could
easily come about nearly overnight and Purpose
Driven has no positive message to stop it.
The point of Be Alert! had always been
to focus us on
the blessed hope of Christ's soon return. The signs
are indeed ugly but the hope is that much more
glorious and wonderful. These reports sadden, anger,
but mostly excite me because I know Jesus is
coming, Yeshua Ha Mochiach our Redeemer is
coming.
My only concern is the salvation of those who are not
saved yet.

1) Gloom and Doom or Our Blessed Hope?
OLIVE TREE MINISTRIES - Understanding The Times
Weekly eUpdate - By Jan Markell - March 11, 2008
I played a clip on my radio show last weekend (March
8,) which you can hear early in hour 2 at "Radio
Archives" on my Web
site.
In part the young woman states, "The end-times are
here, the end-times are here. Gloom and doom, doom
and gloom! You hear about it all the time (yes,
because we're in them). I am so sick of hearing about
the end-times when we have a job to do. I talked to a
friend and she said the Bible said certain things were
going to happen. I couldn't believe it. So we are just
to sit back and drop the ball and not do anything?
"We have radio and TV shows just talking about the
end-times. People actually make a living out of this.
Instead of having a meeting as to how the end-times
are upon us, shouldn't we be redeeming the time for
the days are evil? We have a whole generation of
forgotten kids-forgotten by the church so they can have
their meetings on the end-times."
I wish we DID have a whole lot of churches having
meetings on Bible prophecy! Instead, it was tossed
out of the church 20 years ago! She couldn't be more
wrong.
She continues, "If we truly believe these are the end-
times, shouldn't we be saving souls? Your gloom and
doom meetings are depressing and there is no life in
them. I might as well just go kill myself because there
is no hope. It's just gloom and doom from you people."
This young woman's statements came from a radio
program, so it is hard to say how many people heard
them. She virtually plastered everyone in two
generations above her as having a morbid pre-
occupation with the glorious news that the King is
coming! I couldn't make it through a lot of days without
knowing that. It's the most positive, uplifting message
out there.
Yet, this is how many in the younger generation
(thankfully not all) consider eschatology that is the
theme of one-third of the Bible! There is a special
crown for those who long for His appearing (II Tim.
4:8). Jesus chastised the religious rulers of His day
for knowing the signs of the weather but not the signs
of the times (His first coming.)
This gal went on to say all we need is to focus on
winning the lost. I have to ask, What better tool is
there
for that than eschatology which reminds us that the
hour is late?
Yes, Peter said there would be such scoffers in the
last days but in spite of her claim to really know the
Bible, she doesn't know that she is partially fulfilling
it.
Studying prophecy is a faith-builder. We see how
Jesus fulfilled all His first coming verses and believe
there is no reason why He would not fulfill the verses
for His return. Eschatology reminds us that God has a
glorious future for us! He is our "blessed hope" (Titus
2:13). His return is hardly gloom and
doom.
What is of concern is that, if the Lord should tarry, in
another 20 years Bible prophecy will be an ancient
relic set on the shelf by most everyone, because even
today the lovers of it are primarily over age 50.
But nothing energizes me more than the simple
phrase, "The King is coming!" And thankfully, I talk to
a lot of people who feel the same! This is all that
offers us hope in perilous times.

2) Genocide with jam on it
THE SPECTATOR [Press Holdings/Barclay-
LONDON] - By Melanie Phillips - March 6, 2008
The BBC news gave pride of place this morning to a
report by 'aid' and 'human rights' agencies -Oxfam,
Amnesty, Care International - which accused Israel
of causing the worst humanitarian crisis in Gaza for
the past forty years.
This is of course such a twisted conclusion as to be
positively pathological. The only reason there is a
humanitarian crisis in Gaza is because the people
who control it are waging a war of extermination
against Israel. Israel is accused of blocking the border
so that Gazans are unemployed. For goodness sake,
what do these 'human rights' agencies want -
genocide with jam on it? The people who are
responsible for Gaza's misery are the gunmen and
rocket firers of Hamas, who in addition to using Gaza
for war against Israel are deliberately sabotaging
attempts to get supplies to the population in order to
stoke up a 'humanitarian' crisis to gain world
sympathy and turn it against Israel. Israel is accused
of 'punishing' all Gazans by denying them access to
food, clean water, electricity and medical care. In fact,
as has often been noted by those who inhabit the
sane world, Israel is by and largesupplying these
things to Gaza - and is even treating wounded
Gazans in its own hospitals alongside Israeli citizens,
even the very terrorists who have just tried to murder
those citizens; there is surely no other country on the
planet which would, and would be expected to, provide
its mortal enemies with the means of continuing to
attack it.
Furthermore, as was briefly noted when the security
wall with Egypt was breached, Gaza has not just one
border but two. Supplies could come through Egypt,
yet strangely Egypt is never fingered for the 'blockade'.
Nor do these 'aid' agencies ask how it can be that the
Gazans are deprived of essential supplies causing
a 'humanitarian crisis' when through that border are
smuggled vast amounts of rocketry, guns, explosives
and other weaponry for the purpose of killing Israeli
civilians. If they are so well supplied with the means to
procure death, how come they are not supplied by the
same route with the means to sustain life? And how
come these NGOs don't ask such questions?
The answer, if you look at their extraordinarily distorted
account of Israel's history and behaviour in materials
they have produced over many years, is obvious. Such
NGOs are simply dyed-in-the-wool, vicious and
bigoted Israel-haters, and everything they ever say
about that most beleaguered of countries is filtered
through that vile prism.
