Greetings!

It's back to school time - both here at the farm and for many of you. We had a great group of students last night for our "Basic Soil Fertility" class and we know many of you are preparing for classes to resume for your children. It's been a busy week with preparations for all. As a result, this week's newsletter is a bit late, a bit short, but hopefully will inspire you to visit us tomorrow at the Matthews Farmer's Market. This is a great time of year to enjoy the last of summer's bounty and the first of next season's flavors. For those of us at the market that depend on agriculture for our living, it is also the time of year that we are hopeful that this summer has truly captured your interest and your support for local food. We hope you will continue to visit the market once the school year's busy schedule resumes.

See you tomorrow!

Did you know...

Sugar beets make up a little over half of the U.S. sugar crop, and 95 percent of sugar beets come from Roundup ready seed.
